Need help establishing the type of formation Hi, I'm wondering about words like "labradoodle" (which has been formed by using parts of the words "labrador" and "poodle") or "escapator" (which has probably been formed by using parts of the words "escape" and "escalator"). What is their type of formation called? It's not really compounding, or is it? Edit: also, what 'type of formation' is it if an ordinary word has been spelled in an alternative way, e.g., "quick" -> "kwik"? :/
