Default adjective or adverb

The following sentences should I use a adverb or adjective?

1. I don't fell well.
The word "well" is an adjective?

2. The children did well in the sports competition.
The use of the word "well" in this sentence is an adverb?
=========================================
3. The sick people appeared pale and thin.
The words, pale and thin are used as adjectives?
========================================
4. That was surely a good program.
The word "surely" is used as a adjective?
========================================
5. The plan seemed bad at the time.
The word "bad" is used as a adjective?

In 4, I would say that 'surely'is an adverb, a sentencial adverb modifying the whole sentence. Other than that I agree with you.

Yes, for that meaning (health), well is an adjective and correct. The verb "feel" is a linking verb there.

fell = feel
