am--is--are
I know --is--is for singular use, so is the word ARE correct?

I believe this is talking in the present tense---so is drags the correct word?

You want "am" there. The phrase "together with my brothers and sisters" is set off by commas because nit is accessory information. The verb choice depends on the subject "I".
