Hi Amela_Ze!

What is your native language?

And why did you choose English instead of German?

Hey
Sorry for being late...
Well, I chose English because it seemed much more interesting an useful to me than German..In the end, I had to learn both of them ...
My native language is Bosnian, because I was born in Bosnia&Herzegovina and I live here.

but of course it would really be a advantage to be fluent in one foreign language, particularly English.
Hi Broadway121004,

So what´s your reason of learning English?
Is it just because of the schools policies or because of your love of languages?

I learn English because I love learning it. I want to speak, and write like a native someday. I´m a Filipino just like you, in speech and in blood, in color I´m not sure of.
I see you´re taking up education, are you having an English major or what?

Hi Blouen

Yeah, I'm an Education student, English major.
Well, regardless of it, I learned English automatically because my parents talk to me using both in English and Filipino language. That's bilingualism already.

I want to achieve a good fluency in speaking, reading, and writing,
and also to be competitive enough for job hirings.

But I like learning other languages, like Japanese and Mandarin.
I'll target Spanish next time.

Yes, it´s quite natural for Filipinos to be bilingual. We hear both languages everyday. Fluency and proficiency would only depend on the speaker himself.

So, do you study English as a hobby or something like work?

Nowadays, English and occasionally some languages are must, the others are generally hobby, I think.I do know that more people in China speak english than in the USA. I don't think so, they learnt this language as a hobby. There is no such a hobby both that much common and difficult.Plus, in the job advertisements you would probably see in the necesarry requirements section that "fluency in English is a must".Have you ever seen in an advertisement that "having ....... hobby is a must"
