So we came to the conclusion that Arabic is your first language but English and French are foreign languages though you speak them fluently.

hi harry , how are you ? , i know that native speakers of english are the ones who can answer this question better but i will speak about myself and my country , in Egypt , we have the same educational system as in Russia, from what you mentions , we studied Arabic , our mother tongue and we study English also , both from 1st year of primary school and from secondary stage , we add French or Germany . i think that it is a matter of basics , i must study Arabic because it is my mother tongue , i need to study English because it is the most widely used language in the whole world and i wish to study either french , japanese , germany or any other languages .so we can divide language acquisition into 3 cateogries : language (you must study -you need to study-you wish to study) . but of course life is short and we haven't enough time to learn all these languages , so most of us learn only thelanguages in the first two categries and leave the third because this will be what benefit him in the real world . thank you and i wish you all the best.

Hi, Huda! I'm fine thanks! Nice to hear from you! I find you answer to this question very logical and correct. There are some languages which are a must nowadays. For example English,Spanish,German and French. I hope Russian is also one of them. But we must learn our mother tongue first.

Concerning English, it's a hobby to me because most of the time, I speak English in order to help tourists who visit Montreal. They learn many thing from me and I learn many thing from them what a nice exchange. My third language would probably German, Spanish, Punjabi, and I don't really know what to choose. When I met a German tourist, the guy told me if I know French and English he told me I can communicate everywhere in Europe. That's the reason why it's so hard to decide for my self.

Wow! I think it's really great to know many languages but here in the Philippines we only need to learn two, Our native tongue and English, English has been very impotant here today since companies are looking for good English speakers to join them...

I think you can communicate everywhere in the world with English because it's an international language.

I think so! But still, there are people who don't know or can't speak English. They haven't experienced the thrill and joy of learning English!!!

I think the best way to learn is having fun otherwise it's hard to remind. So what do you think?
