Would, and Indirect Speech

I have a question about Indirect Speech. when I say :

I will help her.
The Indirect Speech should be:

He said that he would help her

Well, what's the Indirect Speech of the following sentence?
I would help her

We don't change 'would' so it becomes 'He said he would help her'.
