PS in my country if you want to translate a literary text, for instance one page costs between 30 and 40 lei which is equivalent with 9 euro/10$. It is quite expansive. How about in your country? And a very good translator can earn up to 400-600 Euro in a month, but the avarage salary(translators) is about 250-300 Euro. Oh and if you want to obtain the authorozation for translation you have to face a lot of birocratism.

I have no idea
But ,each session, my teacher of translation told us(his students) that he doesn't want to teach translation anymore
He always says that he is working for free(because he is payed as a teacher not as a translator)
I think he said that because translation is very expensive here in tunisia
definitely it is
So why,then ,he was saying that?

PS: What is sure there is not a big number of translators in all the Arab countries

As far as I know, the job of teacher, in most of the countries, is very badly paid. The reasons for this is unknown. Even though, the teachers are some kind of parents, persons who make sure to bring there children up as healthly, intelligent, moral as possible, they are paid quite badly. While translators are, in most of the cases, independent. They do not belong to a state/government institution and as a consequence they can earn little more than a teacher.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get official approval/authorization. And even if You finally get it, You must wait up to half a year for an official stamp from a state mint, what in fact entitles You to charge higher rate from the customers.

Yes you're right
In general,teachers are not getting what they deserve as far as money is concerned
It's a pity!!!
Those who are responsible for this misjudgment don't now exactly the nature of this noble job
Actually, the teacher is the one who makes others translators and,..,and..
It is the core and the source or let's say the engine of all the other jobs.

Indeed, you are right. The teacher is not just a teacher, but a leader, a guide, a mentor, an example to others to follow. A teacher has a great influence on the development of children and adults, too. In fact, school represents the second family for us. We spend most of our time at home with our parents and siblings and then at school with our teachers and schoolmates. So the teachers represents, simbolically of course, our parents, while our schoolmates represent our siblings. At least, this is my own opinon.

I haven´t tried translating yet, but since you opened my mind to it, I think it´s worth doing.
I´ll post some of my translations here if ever I´m done. I think doing it from my language to English is best for me. Since I have not much vocabulary from my native language but only the basics, I´d be needing a bilingual dictionary here. Hope I could do it quickly. I´m so excited to show it to you guys.

I took some translation courses at the university, and I found it very interesting and difficult at the same time, not everyone can be a good translator.
For my research paper, I chose "translation problems" as a subject, and I found that to be a translator is difficult.
Now i'm a french teacher and I always have in mind the thought that some time,I'll be a translator.
