You´re absolutely correct. In that case, it will just be pure joy for me and simply vain assumptions for those spectators of my translations down the road. I hope I could teach you guys my language.

Grammar would be your only ground for evaluation.

learning Filipino... that could be somethig exciting maybe give us some absolute basics; numbers 1-10, inflection of the verbs 'be' & 'have..' It's always fun to learn something new, and 'exotic'

Not many would like to learn Filipino but if only they know how Filipinos(perhaps not all but mostly) regard foreigners, they wouldn´t stop coming back here.

Actually, I haven´t found my piece yet for I´m still choosing between some alternatives. But If I get decisive, I´ll jump the gun to show it to you immediately.

Yea, I've translated few texts so far. One for Greenpeace, few for cash and a lot for myself.
For me it's much more easier to translate form English/Italian/Russian/Latin into my mother tongue. But I have to try to do it vice versa 'cause I'd like to be a translator in the future.

Few years ago I read a sentence like: A good translation is not beautiful, beautiful is not good. I mean it is difficult to translate something into another language and make it both correct in a meaning and a style.

But to become a perfect translator you have to have someone who can check your work some master, let say.

i agree with you my friends translation is sth else..you should've an aptitude for it.Some people r good at speakin,some r good at writin..im not good at translating.I think im better at speakin,cause in writin sth,you shouldnt make any mistakes but when u r speakin,if you cant find the exact words,you can use communication strategies.I tried to translate from Turkish to English n vice versa.It took too much time n was not enjoyable.Its €5-7,5 per page in my country.It should be more when it comes to ur efforts.Whatever it is,if u like it,i highly recommend it.My best friend loves it n once she said "a good translation is like carryin a piece of ice from the North Pole to the desert Sahara before it melts "
