iambs and trochees

I am supposed to write two poems, one in iambic feet and one in trochee feet. I am not sure if these are right. Can you help me and tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Iambic
I caught a star that fell far from the sky.
It landed in my lap from way up high.
Slowly it drifted down and did not leave.
Softly I listened as it brushed my sleeve.
The wind quickly blew the bright star away
And left me with heavens of only gray.

Trochee
Dreaming during English.
Thinking of other things.
Hearing something different
Than what she is saying.
Teacher keeps on talking.
No sound enters my ears.
Still I sit when bells ring.
Never minding my peers.

Those two were nice, but some words or pairs were a little awkward if we spontaneously read the poems.


Try Shakespeare's sonnet 18 as an example of an iamb.


"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day.
Thou art more lovely and more temperate..."


I'll give other examples on my next reply for iambs and trochees.

Trochee:
Double, double, toil and trouble...

The accent is always on the first syllable,
and the next happens on every other syllable.
