I don't agree with Blouen, I thing trying to change your accent is not easy to do, if you want to be a native-like then there's a long way to follow in orther to reach your target...many people struggle to have a correct English accent...anyway hard working is well worth it in every step when learning a foreign language.
Changing our accent is not as easy as we think. It will take a very long time to do. I think the easiest part in learning English is writing. Both speaking and listening are a bit harder than writing.![]()
Writing is only easy if your write basic English but if you aim higher, it wouldn't be that easy.
Changing accent, IMO, is the easiest part. I did that in less than a month of practice, of course I gave enormous time to practice everyday.
And when you've got the accent, it will stick with you , no need to add more to it but just to maintain it.
Now, at work we're required to follow the American accent. Though I may not really sound perfect American, I don't sound Filipino either.![]()
