I'd say either, depending on the context- it could mean that I'm going to check,or that I have and don't believe Simon.

This is interesting:

I've already asked my brother and he's never heard of Simon.

Especially when:

Wouldn't 'Either' cover that? I think it's unlikely that anyone would vote exclusisvely for this interpretation.
