I think I was correct at 6. I meant the ( to ) was supposed to be deleted :) in the previous post.

HINT: Note that, the phrase 'Mary and us' functions as the object of the verb 'told'. Also note that, 'and' joins two like forms.

9. These kind of shoes seem to be expensive, but they are relatively easy to care for.

HINT: Note that, 'These' and 'shoes' are plural.

Then 3 and 9 are perfect sentences with no errors at all. But I am asked to single out a mistake from each sentence :P

Regarding 8 it seems that , ' monthly ' used as an adverb modifying ' verb ', why it is not acceptable then but has to be changed into ' a month ' ?

Regarding 8. it seems that 'monthly' is being used as an adverb to modify 'makes'. Why isn't it acceptable then?

He makes only $500 a month/monthly.
His monthly salary is only $500.

That's correct. Either Mary OR us, not both. :D The reason being, 'us' is inclusive e.g., They told us (Mary, John and me). :D
