What does "hands-on training" mean?

It relates to term of subject name session of some school. Does anyone know what this word means? Thanks a lot.

Hi-

"Hands-on" training means practical training in which you actually get to use the product or process you are studying. For example, you can go to a cooking demonstration (where you sit and watch food being prepared) or you can go to a hands-on cooking workshop in which you get to prepare the food as part of the lesson.
