Proximity and Distance
In the following link, they says "Tense expresses proximity (Present) or distance (Past), in relation not only to time, but also to possibility and status."

Because I cannot even explain with confidence what is past, the web page seems to be a way out of my perplexity. However, they are completely new things to me. May someone please explain some more about the new theory to me? How to define proximity and distance?
Thank you very much.
You may try this - proximity is still within reach, past is out of reach from your present.

Hi there...
Sounds like you is the past. This is pretty much confusing. The possibility and status is 'digestible', but the time factor... It ain't my cup of tea.
