Default Please interpret a cartoon for me (about UK)?

Hi! The man in the chair is the UK PM, but who is the lady on his lap?

Would you please interpret the cartoon for me? Thanks!

That is not a lady, but it appears to me a man who has been depicted as a lady. The musical notes have a caption "BROWN'S SPENDING PLAN" and the footer says, "AWAKENING CONSCIOUS".
It is certainly about the economic policies of Mr. Brown and the person sitting on his lap is trying to play the Piano, i.e., trying to follow the policies of Mr. Brown.
Perhaps, someone familiar with the British Ministers would be able to recognize who the person sitting on the lap is.

The "lady" is David Cameron, leader of the Conservative Party, and the context is that Cameron has decided not to support Brown's proposals for "rescuing the economy". He has had a change of heart.

Ay cowabunga! Cast aside the political element of the cartoon, the UK cartoonist has a cool sarcastic skill and artistic imagination. I really enjoy it. But the "lady" cannot remind me of David Cameron if I don't watch it very very carefully.

Thank you very much for your interpretation, Anglika.

Hi SUDHKAMP,

Could you please explain what made you think the person on the Brown's lap was a man at the first eye?

Though the figure doesn't appear very feminine, the person was in the woman outfit and sat on a man's lap so I had thought it was a lady.

Could you not see the muscles on the face, they are typical of a msculine face. I have many cartoonists friend in my city, and I have seen them doing this trick many a times. Only the face is given some feminine touch by sketching the hairs long, putting some lip-stick, ear-riings, and in India the vermillion(Kum-Kum) Bindi(dot) on forehead. Very simple to recognize that a masculine face has been turned into a feminine face.
But if you watch closely, the torso sure was copied from a female model, see the curves near thighs and the feet.
Did you enlarge the painting to 400% zoom level? It helps!

Hi SUDHKAMP,

Thank you for your explanation. But some women have a masculine face too.
