If you have Windows Xp, you can turn NUM LOCK on, hold down the right ALT key, and type four digits on the numeric keypad only (not the numbers above the letters) to get these characters. ALT-0233 for instance is é, and there are several hundred already there.

This has the ones you probably need.
And for non-Vista users, don't despair. All versions of Windows do the same (or at least all the versions I've used since the late '80s).
