Question Signature - Writing

I set a fixed signature like the model where I highlight in blue as below in Microsoft Outlook.

Recently I heard from an email from an American customer - Mike Peterson. He has a similiar fixed signature like mine, but I noticed that he signed his first name above his full name in the email of his to me as below.

Dear Homer:

Sincerely, Mike

My question is whether it is better if I just sign my first name above my signature model like Mike Peterson's signature, especially when I write to a familiar customer?

Thank you!

I believe it depends on your personal taste, whether to put signature in special colour or not. It is the email Id which has more importance for authenticating a particular communique.
Though there have been some electronic signatures(a code of safe cyber code) which are being used and being recognized by moder cyber laws, to authenticate transactions and documents. But it is a different matter altogether.
Here in the above case, it is more a case of presentation than putting a signature.

It is not related to colours at all, which I just highlight them to stress my points here. Anyway, thanks for your attention.

When I became very familiar with a customer (sending several comminucations to a purchasing agent per day, for example), I would just "sign" with my first name, and type my full name underneath, similar to what Mike did. Some people feel that they are developing a closer business relationship when they get a bit more informal. If Mike, for example, has a problem with an order he's placed with you at a future date, he'll feel that you might be able to pull some strings and put his problem ahead of all the others you're working on if he's able to phone/email you and say "Daffodil, I really need that shipment by next Monday, is there anything you can do to expedite it?" rather than "Miss Daffodils, our company requires shipment by X date...."

If the person with whom you're corresponding maintains a very formal signature/attitude, however, you should do the same.

Hi Ouisch,

How are you?

Thank you very much for your input. You are helpful. I have been very busy and exhausted recently.
