hi,

for example: "ten a penny" or "two a penny" or " a dime a dozen" there meaning is very cheap or very common.

ex. In our town, bread is two/ten a penny. In our town, the bread is very cheap.

To indicate something that is expensive/costs lots of $$$$$, one can also say:

That sports car costs me big/mega bucks.

Those shoes must have set you back quite a few dollars.

Even a small boat like that would cost a pretty penny.
