There's method in his madness

I think it means that its HARD to understand his approach, because a method...IN MADNESS........ Really cant be understood!8-)

I understand this to mean, "Even though he APPEARS to be mad, or even IS mad, it is clear to see that there is a definite, sane plan behind his actions."

What if he really is mad and he's just trying to make you think that he's not mad by invoking the expression "there's a method to my madness"?

The point, Robyn:

It first glance his actions appear to be madness (chaotic, pointless), but taking a deeper look reveals a coherent plan.

Every person has a different kind of madness..... There can't be methods in ALL of them...!?
