Default Are there any good linguistics magazines that you recommend?

Hello..

I have no idea about linguistics magazines which I'm sure they exist out there, but I want your advice and recommendations about what is good among them.

I really need your advice :)

Are you talking about online blogs, or scholarly journals?
Any particular area of linguistics that you're interested in?

I meant printed scholarly journals.

I meant also general linguistics, about all of its fields but most importantly the applied linguistics branches.

Thank you so much :)

This list might give you a start.

I would say the following are among the ones I read most often, though unfortunately they don't focus on applied linguistics:

Journal of Linguistics
Language
Lingua
Linguistic Inquiry
Linguistics and Philosophy
Natural Language and Linguistic Theory

orangutan & Raymott, I'm really grateful for your contributions, thank you so much for your attention.

To be honest, I I'm a little bit lost because of this big amount of journals you put!

To make you more familiar about my need, from your experience, I want you to recommend me one of the journals listed above which doesn't dig deep in a specific area of linguistics or just publishes some works of research in the field.

I'm still at the shores of linguistics so I need some journal that tend to be general if there is any.

Thank you again for your advice

Scholarly journals generally don't print articles suitable for beginners.
It sounds like you needs a good textbook. A good textbook has a bibliography of the journal sources they use, which you can then follow up.
If you have access to a good library, they might have some of journals online.
Like all academic journals, they are expensive; and as a beginner, they would not have a lot to offer you. I don't think linguistics has a layman's journal like Science, Nature, or Popular Mechanics.
Have you read the articles on Wikipedia? They cover general linguistics superbly.

I would second this advice.

The Wiki articles on Linguistics used to be notoriously patchy, but there has recently been a concerted movement to improve them, and I think they are quite good now.

Thank you for your advice, I really need honest opinions just like what you offered.

I consider my level of knowledge about linguistics as under-intermediate not beginner since I'm almost a graduate student from an English language and translation faculty which included several courses in linguistics and now I have a very good background of the main topics in most of the linguistics fields and what I need is not being familiarized with these topics again but getting a little deep in these topics in the form of articles not long research papers. I know I said before I don't want deep information and you might call me "crazy" now ^^, but when I saw these journals you gave me with a plenty of research works about very specific points I said so!

The wikipedia's articles are good though and they were so helpful when I was studying linguistics at the university but now I need something more specialized and called authentic resource when need to bibliography.

I'm not sure if I'm clear enough about my request and I don't know if it exists at all, but I really appreciate your help :)

Your request is clear, but there is no simple answer.
If you are no longer at uni, you won't be able to afford to read the scholarly journals. I think your best plan still is to use free resources on the web. Another idea is to go to Amazon.com and check out the publications they have on linguistics. You might find just the thing you are looking for.
