You've got it exactly.
The verb is "reminded."
Here are two other examples:
I reminded you to take your allergy medicine.
You were reminded to take your allergy medicine (so it's not my fault you sneezed all through dinner).
Seeing those dresses in the closet reminded me of when the girls still liked to wear matching clothes.
I was reminded of when the girls still liked to wear matching clothes (by the sight of those dresses in the closet).
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
