Do you often pay compliments to others? Do you feel comfortable to compliment people you are not quite familiar with? And do you always say "Thank you" when other people compliment you?
Hi, Elaine
as far as I know there is n't any specific language about compliments.
You just say: your dress suits you, I love the colours! And the other person simply says :thank you, you are being very kind.-but that means that she thinks you don't mean the compliment you paid, you just said something nice but not true.
So you simply say what you think (without insulting anyone) and expect a thank you or even better: I like your dress too.![]()

Well, it depends. If you are dealing with your friends, then maybe you can responde in a funny yet cute way:
e.g. 1/Wow, you are smart!
Response: Yeah, I know.
2/You evil!!
Response: Thanks, I try!
