A book for linguistcs

'The study of language' of George Yule was the first linguistic book I studied. It is easy to understand.

I'll buy "The study of language" more than one person recommended it for me, besides I saw it at a bookstore and I liked it.

We used this book in my Introduction to Descriptive Linguistics class.

Linguistics by MacGregor.

It has been very useful for me as a reference. There are separate chapters for the information you are looking for: phonology, morphology, and syntax.
