Default What's the subject of "Let us go"?

If there is anyone else who is interested in this super difficult question, I just wanted to share an exciting discovery.

I have found a scholarly explanation that -- although mostly over my head -- did help me a bit in getting closer to the

    answer.

    Just google:

The subject of "Let us go." Modality in English.
