Arrow Forum Spam

Sometimes a thread or reply will not be posted right away because certain keywords set-off flags in our spam filter (or there are too many links to other sites in your message). This may result in an error when posting new threads. Unfortunately this is a necessary step due to the heavy volume of spam we receive.

We will not list these words (because that would allow spammers to simply bypass it), but please reply here if you're having issues with this feature. Please note -- if a message is flagged as spam, a moderator must approve it before it's online. This generally takes under an hour, so please don't post your thread multiple times. Just PM a moderator to request that we review your post.

This also may have happened if you posted too many URLs in a thread. Again, a moderator should approve your thread soon.

Thanks for your patience.

Regular users should not be affected by this. If you are a regular user and affected, please let us know and we will sort it out immediately.

Dear Sir or Madame,
I just tried putting the website address to some seminars that I made about countable nouns. This is surely not spam. Please check out my site at YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. and you will see what I mean

Thanks for regarding this matter

OK, I have approved it and will listen to it. I am afraid that we have to have the controls to restrict the spammers.

Hi!

I was redirected to this thread when looking for sopiehhrr's threads on ellipsis.
Were they considered as spam? They contained interesting stuff.

The posts you refer to may not necessarily be spam, no. However, some posts may simply need a moderator to review them before being published to the forum.

One of the threads (they are three) I refer to is
http://www.usingenglish.com/forum/as...-sentence.html
which was served on the web by UsingEnglish. Unfortunately now (see time and date of current post) it is not public available, it exists only on some machines which cautiously have made a backup copy.
