You must have seen polls on this forum – usually tdol asks something not too difficult (to choose which is correct) and many people answer. A poll is a survey of opinions.
Frankly speaking, I do not understand the purpose of those polls – perhaps tdol is interested in the proficiency of forum visitors or just wants to encourage learners : they can demonsrate they do know English well enough.
As RonBee is undoubtedly a native speaker it was strange to see him asking this kind of question, which led me to the supposition it was sort of a poll.

I think the polls help the learners see how well they are progressing. If a person gets a question right he can give himself a pat on the back (figuratively, of course).

And they're fun. (At least, I think so.)

This generally means, that one is totally through with the particular subject, act, etc., and express extreme frustration, or perhaps even anger, to dismiss the subject.
