Hi,
I am writing a paper to compare three printing companies. Please help me fix grammatical mistakes. Thank you!
We set out to compare three printing companies: Amazon's Createspace.com, Diggypod.com, and Orlando Printshop for our YHTT book. We came up with 18 criteria listed in Table 1. We do an in depth comparison on four criteria: Distribution, shipping, ease of update, and costs.
Distribution. With Createspace.com we do not have to carry inventory. Its model is print on demand. Our book is available online at Amazon.com. You can order as few as 1 copy. Click, order, and wait for the book to come to your mailbox. Diggypod.com has the same model, but at 150 books minimum. On the other hand, Orlando Printshop requires physical distribution and inventory of 2,000 books. The upfront capital requirements, storage space, and man power make Orlando Printshop the least desirable option.
Shipping. Amazon Createspace.com has the cheapest rates ranging from FREE to $3.59 per book. Amazon’s Createspace.com prints and ships on demand as few as one book at a time. In contrast, we need a dedicated person to deliver books from Orlando Printshop to our customers. The cost and time commitments can be astronomical.
Ease of Update and Modification. With Orlando Printshop, it is almost impossible to correct mistakes or come out with a second edition due to budget constraint (We spent $12,600 upfront). With print-on-demand like Createspace.com and Diggypod.com, updating our book is as easy as uploading a new PDF file.
Costs. . Orlando Printshop is the cheapest. It costs $12,600 to print 2,000 books. However, taking labor into consideration, it can be the most expensive option. Amazon Createspace.com is the second cheapest at $13,700 for 2,000 books. Note, printing is available only in black and white for interior pages and color for the front and back covers. Diggypod.com is the most expensive.
In conclusion, we recommend Amazon Createspace.com. It is ideal because of its minimal initial capital commitment, vast array of distribution channels, and easy to update. This doesn't work if interior color is a must have.
