In terms of those words and their particular letters, there is little difference between Spanish and English: [mar 'ti nez] [pa 'tʃe ko] ['kon tra kos ta] will do, even with an English accent.

Really, I could have sworn it would be 'martinez. So things are not always as obvious as they first appear!

Apparently Martinez, Oregon is /'martine/.
