In resume, what does a small symbol over e signify. Is this e different from english e? I think resume is a french word and the symbol has its roots from french transcript, am I correct? Does english does not have an equivalent for resume? Thanks

It is the French word, with an accent over the e. The English translation would be "Summary", but generally the term used is Curriculum vitae.

Yes, résumé is French for summary. But in N. America, it is not a CV, which is complete. The resume is the short version.
