I understand how to pronounce simple present tense of "Read" and simple past tense of "Read" is pronounced as "Red", but I'd like to know how to pronounce "Unread", sometimes I hear people say "Unread", some people say "Unred", could you please tell me which one is correct? Thanks. Regards, William

As it refers to what did NOT happen in the past, it is pronounced in the past: unred.

Thanks for your reply, jlinger. But how do you explain "Undo"? According to the example of "Unread", we should use "Undid", how come we never use this word "Undid", we just use "Undo"....just feel strange.

You may use undid in the past, and undo in the present or future. We undid everything he had accomplished. We will undo whatever you try to fix.
