| Whenever I have heard or said the word ABSORBENT, I have always pronounced S as Z, and R is also pronounced in it... But according to the phonetic symbols my way of pronouncing it, is wrong... Am I right????? Or is it just a difference of Englishes????? |

Bloody ignorant journalists, with other equally ignorant journalists 'picking up the story'; and all with access to such world-wide influence on 'oh so earnest and up on the news at the office the next day, but who haven't checked a dictionary since they were forced to at school, and as long as they sound 'with it' and ...'and... | Well, /b/ is voiced, so is any vowel. You can expect voiced /z/ since it is sandwiched between b and o. |
