Dear All,
I was wondering how to pronounce "everyone" correctly, as I know the wordstress should be EVERYone, I mean stress on 1st syllable only, but the following audio files pronounce "everyONE" and "EVERYONE", stress on 2nd syllable, and final audio stress on both syllables. Teachers and Dictionaries always tell us, we should pronounce EVERYone....If we pronounce EVERYONE is incorrect, because people think you are saying "Every one", not "Everyone".....please advise.
Morning, everyONE. Good morning, everyONE.

Hi,
Anyone can answer my question? I really want to get your opinions...thanks..

In the first recording, I hear the first syllable of 'everyone' as being stress. '-one' seems to just have a rising pitch. Also, even if it was stressed, it is a teacher trying to get the attention of the class - she is bound to stress unusual syllables since it isn't really a normal speaking situation.
In the second recording, I just hear it as a normal 'everyone'. I certainly wouldn't confuse it with 'every one'.
In the first recording, I want to know "rising pitch" is not equal to "stress"? I hear the "every" is unstressed and the "one" is stressed. Please advise.
In the second recording, I hear first and second syllable are also stressed, the normal "everyone" from Longman Dictionary is "Download Everyone - MP3 Ringtone Everyone by Everyone - Free Music Hosting"
"every" is stressed and "one" is unstressed, right?
