Currently, my name is "Cami," but it's meant to be pronounced like "Kayme" (a long "a") not "cammie." I am thinking about changing the spelling of my first name to something like "Kayme," but do you have any more suggestions for its spelling? I'm very tired of telling people 3 or 4 times how my name is pronounced, etc.
Thank You
Let me clarify:
The first syllable 'Ca-' rhymes with 'hi', 'bye', 'I' etc.
The second syllable '-mi' rhymes with 'me', 'bee', 'see' etc.
Is this correct?
If so, I think your interpretation, Kayme, is good. Or perhaps Kaime, as some people may pronounce Kayme as 'came'. Even just adding these into the original might be good, and doesn't change it too much - Caymi, or Caimi. The use of '-e' at the end of a word (as in Kayme) is, as you know, often silent, and functions as an indication of a change in vowel sound (cam - came, Sam - same). Whereas the '-i' at the end (as in Caymi) would indicate that it is to be pronounced to someone who read your name. Just a small thing.
It's an interesting name, Cami, and I can see the frustration you'd have if it is pronounced so differently from how it looks.
Good move to change your name to have the original phonetic output.
casey = K C
camey = K mee
stace vs stacey
romney
Note the trick of adding y to e, since just e is a silent one.

Hello,
Thank you for the replies! Sorry that I was not completely clear. I meant "Cami" to be pronouned "Kay" as in Bay, ray, etc... and "me" as in doe, ray me, etc. I'm looking to spell of the name "Kay" "me" in a way that people won't mispronounce. Currently, I spell it "Cami." Thank you for your replies.
In that case; Camey, Kamey, Kamie
kaymie is another option
