    Default Deutsche & Asks

    I have to questions:

    1. How to pronounce the word : Deutsche?

    2. When you read the following sentence: he asks me a question, do both S on the word asks are voiced? or is there another way to read it?

    Thanks in advance.

    2. Pronunciation of asks - pronounce asks correctly in English.

Just to clarify from your initial post, there are no voiced consonants in 'asks' at all. Both 's' are voiceless alveolar fricatives /s/.

    Hello Ann...
Pronounce Deutsche [doy chuh] It should be two syllables because of the 'e' at the end which is pronunced like a schwa. If there is no 'e' at the end, it's pronounced [doych].
