It sounds "beyond expectation". I wonder if it sounds clearly in AmE.

Any ideas appreciated.

I would say that it is very wide of the mark- the last sound of 'beyond' is lost in a way that doesn't sound native and the stress is on the wrong syllable for 'expectation'. (BrE speaker)

I've got an idea for you NH. Keep your speakers on and go to "Guru" dictionary. It has pronunciation for each and every word in English. See for yourself how different your pronunciation is from the dictionary one. At least it's a start.

Regarding online speakers, I only know webster. But some native English speaker has complained that the sounds of webster are not so accurate.
