| Remember, the pronunciation of a proper noun (name) is the perogative of the owner of that name. If Mr. Keane chose to pronounce it "kee-ah-nee," you would be obliged to pronounce it that way also, regardless of how other people whose name is spelled the same pronounce theirs. This is especially true of geographic names. The local pronunciation is always the correct one. |
