American d
Does American English have only one version of d?
Is d in dog is the same as d in better, little?
Can you tell me the correct position of tongue?
Also if any one familiar with Arabic , is Arabic d is the same as English?
I can't get the difference but when I record myself my d sounds totally different.

Re: American d
Please bear in mind that I am not a professional.
The d in better or little appears much weaker than in dog. I also think that it is no longer plosive, the tongue kind of flaps more. At least when I try to pronounce those words.

No, the sounds are different for most Americans. The "d" in "dog" is a stop, [d], while in "better", it is a flap, [ɾ].
