    Greetings,

    how should I read the name Anna? With the first a as in cAt, or as in cAlf

    This is how it's transcribed in the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English: ˌænə

    The "a" as in "cat" is how I hear it (or the "a" in "calf" in AmE).
