Gerry and Jerry are pronounced the same way.

Of course a person can pronounce his own name as he wishes, but if I saw Gerry I would start with the Jerry pronunciation.

The surname of Mr Gerry was apparently pronounced as in 'get'.

While Chicken Sandwich and Barb_D think Gerry is pronounced the same way as Jerry,
5jj thinks it should be pronounced as /geri/.

So, I'd draw the conclusion that both are possible as native English speakers pronounce this 'name' differently.

Gerry is normally pronounced the same way as Jerry, and most native speakers would pronounce it in this way. It just happens that the Mr Gerry I referred to pronounced his surname with the intitial letter /g/ as in 'get'.

The main difference in the answers in the thread so far is that 5jj was referring to "Gerry" as a surname and everyone else has been referring to the first names Jerry and Gerry.
