[Gerry = Jerry in pronunciation]
Gerry | Define Gerry at Dictionary.com
[Gerry = pronounced as /geri/]
Which's correct ? thanks a lot
Gerry and Jerry are pronounced the same way.
Of course a person can pronounce his own name as he wishes, but if I saw Gerry I would start with the Jerry pronunciation.
The surname of Mr Gerry was apparently pronounced as in 'get'.
Thank you all,
While Chicken Sandwich and Barb_D think Gerry is pronounced the same way as Jerry,
5jj thinks it should be pronounced as /geri/.
So, I'd draw the conclusion that both are possible as native English speakers pronounce this 'name' differently.
Thanks a lot again
The main difference in the answers in the thread so far is that 5jj was referring to "Gerry" as a surname and everyone else has been referring to the first names Jerry and Gerry.
:up: It's like John Paul Getty keeping his boat at the end of a jetty. ;-)
