"midst"
Why is d sound being dropped in Oral English in the word midst while it does exist in phonetic transcriptions in dictionaries?
/ˈmɪdst/
/m
dst/
[midst]

Re: "midst"
It's in the phonemic transcription because it is not normally dropped. If it were, the transcription would be
/mɪst/
