Default foxes

Dear teachers,

1) How do you pronounce:
“foxes” : /fokSez/ or /fokZez/ ?

2) Is the possessive of "Jesus" a) Jesus' or b) Jesus's ?
If b) would you pronounce it /dgeezuSez/ ?

Regards,
Hela

I say 'foksiz'. With Jesus, you'll see both forms and both pronunciations used. I was taught to add the -'s with foreign names, so I'd add it.

Thank you. But what is the most formal / academic version of the use of the apostrophe? In academic English would you write Oedipus' or Oedipus's / Jesus' or Jesus's / Achilles' or Achilles's ?

See you
