for the most it might be easy to pronunciate the american (indian) name

SHANIA.

My wife and I are not sure about the pronunciation. And SHANIA might be the name of our babygirl, which will be born within the next few weeks.

I've only heard the name in connection with the singer Shania Twain; and in that context, it seems to be pronounced "Sha-NI-a", where the first and last vowels are schwas, and the stressed middle vowel rhymes with "eye".

Other members may have other ideas, though!
