Smile British Dialects

hi,

Who could tell me a site that treats British Dialects? I'm interested especially in the influencies of other languages that helped in the development of the British Dialects. I have been searching for them for 2 days but I have not found anything related to these dialects.

thank you in advance,
madox

Try starting here: English Accents and Dialects

PS Perhaps 'starting' isn't the right word - I mean there's a lot at this site.

Hi, Madox,
On Antimoon forum (no registration required) there seem to be quite a few connoisseurs of phonetics - a lot of endless threads on accents.
Antimoon Forum: Discuss learning English and the English language

Regards
