 Pronunciation of the word "Years" Quite often on the news on the radio they pronounce the word "yers" instead of with the "ears" sound. It really is quite annoying! Hope someone can help?  Matt |

| Re: Pronunciation of the word "Years" My (Canadian) dictionary says /ji:rZ/ (IPA symbols) where /i:/ is the long "e" sound. EPD lists US pronunciation as /jIrz/ where /I/ is short "i" sound. My pronunciation is closer to the US listing. |
