Default Living in America with British accent?

Hi! I have been learning standard british accent and love it the most, but I like American culture and am going to move to USA to experience ever. Does British accent matter? Will I have to change my accent when I live in the America? How many Americans speak with British accent?

There are many BE accents and many AmE accents, but most British people have no (significant) difficulty in interpreting the speech sounds made by most Americans.

As to whether you will have to change - probably not. Whether you will change, that may depend on you. My sister and brother-in-law, both British, went to live in the US some time ago. She sounds very American now, while he has kept his English accent; the only thing that makes his speech American-sounding is the vocabulary (he says, e.g., "cell" rather than mobile phone, etc.).
