Clarification about a Canadian accent
YouTube - Ottawa accent
I thought that the accent displayed in the video was typical of Canadians in general and not just used by women in Ottawa. I'm Canadian but don't pronounce the words in the video like that; however, I was under the impression that that was because of the fact that I live relatively close to the US border (Calgary). I thought that those in the northern parts of Canada would have these features in their speech but this video states that it's an Ottawa specific phenomenon.

Re: Clarification about a Canadian accent
All right, I can't differentiate her "Ottawa accent" from accents all over Canada. Her pronunciations of the o's are more rounded, which I was under the impression was typical of many Canadians and not just those in Ottawa. The video also mentions something about some vowel shifts but I'm bad at detecting it. Can anyone explain how she's speaking differently from other Canadians?
