Diffrent English Accents: help with an MP3 File

It’s always helpful to be familiar with different accents. Not only does this familiarization helps you to know where the people you are speaking to come form, but also it helps you understand them better if you know the variation in pronunciation and accent.

There is an MP3 file with 8 different sentences read by 8 people with different nationality and accent. I was wondering where probably they come from and what is there accent.

Please someone who is familiar with these accents specifies the speaker’s nationality and accent. Pleas be SPECIFIC (e.g. don’t say only he is American, pleas determine which city or state or area…fore example south east England or Boston).

There is a reason for me to revive this old post: I've found a file hosting site which made me able to put this mp3 file on the net without any limitation in size. It's german website.

I couldn't put the mp3 file here because its size is above the file size limit in this forum, however, I've put it in another website which is a free file hosting website.

I have not put the file to distribute it on the web nor I have violated the copyright law, I was just wondering whch accents are there to sharpen my ears to different English accents.

Please someone kindly identifies that accents in the file.

1. She's a writer of romantic novels.
Sound like the Western part of the USA, maybe California. I've a friend from New Mexico whose speech is similar.

2. Read about it in news papers.
New York area

3. She went to hospital because she had heart problems.
British English; I don't know where

4. We watched TV and then went to bed.
Sounds like the speaker is from Africa somewhere

5. I want to thank you for your help.
Irish English

6. They were jailed for robbing this bank.
British English; I don't know where

2. Read about it in newspapers - might be from Chicago or north eastern part.
4. We watched TV and then we went to bed. - sounds like came from India.

i remember that Indians tend to pronounce 'p t k' unasperated, such as t in 'TV' or 'to', so i don't think this one is from India.
