Default How do you pronounce...

How do you pronounce two words together when the first word ends in a consonant and the second word starts with the same consonant? Do I join the two together or separate them?

We often blend them into a single sound.

I usually pronounce them together as an prolonged consonant.
e.g. 'part time', I pronounce tt as an prolonged stop.
