Scottish and Irish

I'm recently very interested in the Scottish and Irish pronunciation, but I can't really tell them apart :roll: Can anyone tell me their most important characteristics??
For example, do the Irish pronounce the 'r' in a way too similar to the Americans?? And how's the Scottish 'r'??

Scotland and Ireland are generally rhotic (pronounce the r), while England and Wales are non-rhotic.
