Yasir,

I have re-written your letter. Please try to end your sentences with periods. It helps us to understand what you mean.

Hello. I am Yasir Alib Bhatti from Pakistan. I speak English well. In my country, speaking English is compulsory and we must try to improve our English. Please help me with my pronouciation. Thank you and I remain grateful.

Now . . . we cannot help you with your pronounciation, because we cannot hear you. We can help you to write English better.

Do you have specific problems of pronunciation? Which words do you find hard to say?

Pronunciation is always a difficult skill, but you don't have to sound like a native speaker to be fluent. Make your goal communication, so that a native speaker can understand and have a conversation with you.

To speak clearly, practice more than the sounds of words. Intonation and rhythm are equally important. I often ask my students to listen to short passages, and then repeat, repeat, repeat aloud. I do this both in the class and as assigned homework. I also ask each student to record his/her voice of the same passage for comparison, and to slowly work towards improved clarity.

It's a long process that's hard to measure. But remember: You don't have to sound perfect to have a real conversation with someone in English.

Hi
You better practice a standard American or British Pronunciation - not accent - because accent is a combination of three major features:
1. Pronunciation
2. Word Connection
3. Intonation

All you can do is to correct your pronunciation first. Learning the IPA ( International Phonetic Alphabet ) helps a lot, although you can forget about the traditional method and easily get your hands on talking dictionaries available on CD or DVD for computers such as The American Heritage talking dictionary or The Longman Dictionary of American English talking dictionary. Second, you need to use any chance to listen to general American/British accents - you can choose - to work on the second and third elements (WORD CONNECTION AND INTONATION). Listening to BBC or CNN news could help you a lot to improve your second and third elements of a standard British accent. Watching CBS news, Good Morning America, or ABC news could help you a lot improve your General American accent. Remember that you need to be very patient.
Good luck
